Original wood lamps

Alternating Slices and Africa

Demonstration:
“Discuss and demonstrate aspects of designing, configuring and assembling exotic wood laminations, inlays, “weaving”, and bookmatching. Special demonstration(s) of simple technique to make interesting wood designs, such as for checker- and cutting-boards. Visitors can make their own small cutting board. Will answer questions on construction of lamps and
lamp shades.”

Directions to studio:
“San Juan to 49th, past fairgrounds, around two curves to Mason Street; turn left onto Mason, right on S. Caroline, and left on Magnolia. Or, take Hastings to Cook Ave., drive down the steep hill (Cook Ave.), turn
right on Bell and go left on either Magnolia Court or E. Caroline St. to Magnolia. 4671 is next to last house on right (west) side of Magnolia, just before Saphire St. Do Not Block Driveways!

Artist statement:
“I make functional items, primarily lamps, with simple, clean designs to feature the natural character, colors and textures of exotic woods. I relish the challenges of creating unique and appealing designs; and the stunning appearances of the finished woods always delights–and sometimes surprises–me.”

Studio open during the remainder of the year by appointment only.
