Artist Statement:
“I have long been enchanted by clay. When I was little I would go out after a rain and look for fresh clay to make small animals out of. I am still fascinated by this world around me. Making these sculptures is my way of expressing what I see, and sense. I am very moved by bringing parts together into a whole. We consist of many facets. The world consists of many parts. My sculpture expresses how this can all come together into a cohesive wholeness. I am continually exploring new ways with clay. There is a new joy exploring clay mobiles that spin and balance, and exploration of incorporating wire, such as wire legs on crows.
When I work on a sculpture I let go and let the process take me where it leads.
My sculptures are suitable for enjoyment both indoors and outside in most climates.”
