Pele Ruana Handweaving
Demonstration:
“At the Three Strands Studio, the visitor can watch the transformation of fiber into fabric. While spinning, dyeing, and weaving all take place at the studio, the emphasis is primarily on weaving and the exploration of color. The result is functional textiles for the home that turn everyday objects into items of beauty. All four floor looms will be warped with a variety of patterns and a table loom will be set up for experimentation by participants.”
Directions:
Take San Juan Avenue past Blue Heron Middle School and around sharp left-hand curve that becomes 49th Street. Fairgrounds will come up on the left. Turn right onto Jackman Street at the end of the fairgrounds. Drive to the end of Jackman and turn let onto 57th Street. Third house on the right, green with a red roof. Come to the front door.
