Demonstration:
I will set up in my studio to perform action painting.
Directions to studio:
Highway 19 towards Port Angeles, turns into Discovery Road. After passing the Baptist Church, turn right onto Towne Point Blvd. Turn right again onto Summit Way. Studio is located at 2019 Summit Way.
Artist statement:
Jim Watson-Gove is an “action painter”, a poet, & a small press publisher (Minotaur Press). He has been writing and painting for over 50 years. He has “studied” with Richard Allen Morris and had taken various college level painting classes. He discovered the Expressionists in the 50’s, and Abstract Expressionism shortly after and has never looked back.
Jim Watson-Gove combines poetry and paint to produce art that explores their boundaries. His major influences are Hans Hofmann, Jackson Pollock, Judy Chicago and Richard Allen Morris
