Artist statement:
Though I have been making baskets for many years, in the last ten I have been stimulated by the color, texture and flexibility of industrial materials. My interest has been reinforced by my curiosity: how could these materials be shaped into artistic pieces that are worth saving, rather than being more pieces of junk to be thrown away? I have learned many new techniques for preparing materials for weaving. Recently I have been working with copper in combination with other materials.
