2012 Studio Tour

Dear Artists:
We are presently making plans for Art Port Townsend 2012. The Studio Tour will be Saturday and Sunday, August 25th and 26th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kate Dwyer has generously volunteered to be the Volunteer Coordinator for Artists on the Tour and Melinda Bryden will coordinate the paperwork. We are hoping you will choose to be a part of our Studio Tour. All of the documents required to enter are attached. The fee for each participant will be $95 for members of Northwind Arts Alliance or $130 for non members.  If you are not a current donor to Northwind Arts Alliance, you may wish to become one. This money will partially cover the costs of the costs to produce and implement the tour, such as printing. The current year increase in fee is due to our desire to augment the publicity for the Studio Tour and to pay for Web services that were previously donated. There will be a $25 late processing fee for any application after the June 1st cut-off date to offset the additional costs in processing the brochure. Once again, the tour will be free to the public.

NEW THIS YEAR:  Art Port Townsend has rented the Quimper Grange Hall for Artists who do not have or do not wish to open their studios. There is space available for six artists (an additional charge of $40 per space will be required to cover the rental of the facility.) As with all the individual studios, a demonstration or educational component will need to be part of these artists’ spaces as well.

Please respond to Melinda by June 1st if you wish to be a part of this year’s Studio Tour. Include your email address so we can send you the application packet. If you do not have email, please send us your snail mail address for mailing. You may also pick up forms at the Northwind Arts Center, address noted below, during open business hours. The Center is usually open noon to 5 p.m., every day except Tuesday and Wednesday.

We would be glad to welcome you as a volunteer with this event. Please contact us if you would like to be involved or if you would like to be notified of the Art Port Townsend meetings. We are especially looking for people to do more publicity.

Also, if you were a previous tour participant and did not return your studio tour sign(s) and support(s), please drop them by the Northwind Arts Center at your earliest possible convenience, so other tour participants may use them.

Art Port Townsend is very pleased to welcome you as a 2012 Studio Tour Artist. We thank you for your response to our quest for studios, and we are very excited about this year’s tour, August 25th and 26th, 2012 during the hours 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Do you know other local and regional artists whose work you admire and respect? We encourage you to ask them to consider participating in the Studio Tour next year as well. We would like to increase the number of artists in their studios for the tour to attract more tour goers.

You will also need to send a representative image of your work for the brochure; be sure to read the digital photograph requirements information sheet carefully.
Please give these forms your careful attention, and return them to me immediately – no later than June 1st. This includes your representative image for the printed brochure.
