Jacobson Studio
4111 Gise Street
Port Townsend, Washington 98368

Jim plans to paint in this studio using an impasto with knife approach. Guests are invited to see his recent work displayed in and on the outside (weather permitting) of his shingled house and to visit him while painting in the studio. He is happy to interact with visitors while painting. In keeping with past tours, refreshments will be served. Please join us.

From Jackman Street running along the west edge of Jefferson County Fairgrounds, jog west up the hill: Right on 45th; Left on Erin; Right on 43rd and Left on Gise to 41st. Turn right and park.

Artist Statement:

“I am an oil painter. I have developed a passion for it. But first I am a student. I expect that will never change. As a student I am challenged by every element present in a successful painting beginning with the questions of what to paint and why. Following these tricky questions I am faced with decisions about composition, light source, values, color and all the nuances that go with each element.
Striving to improve as an oil painter is a significant goal in my life. If one’s goal should exceed one’s reach I certainly have selected a good one, for it feeds the passion and sharpens the focus of this student.
Studio is open by appointment during the remainder of the year.
