Demonstration

Typical small woodworker's shop, with a large selection of exotic wood, of which small samples will be available.  Will discuss and/or demonstrate aspects of designing, configuring and assembling exotic wood table and floor lamps, including lumineres, using lamination, inlays, "weaving", and "bookmatching".  Will discuss any aspect of lamp making; and construction of mica and paper lamp shades.

Statement

I make functional items, primarily lamps, with simple, clean designs that feature the natural character, colors and textures of exotic woods, using laminations, inlays, "weaving", and "bookmatching" to create original and interesting combinations.

Directions

San Juan to 49th, past fairgrounds, continue up slight incline, at curve left street becomes 53rd; turn left on Mason, right on E. Caroline, left on to Magnolia.  (NOTE: House/studio is about at first "a" in "Magnolia" on map).  OR Hastings to Cook Ave., continue down steep hill and then turn right on to Bell St., left on either Magnolia Court or E. Caroline, and right on to Magnolia.  PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS OF NEIGHBORS OR OBSTRUCT STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES
