Saturday: The artists will present two slide shows in
the foundry building while the kiln is burning out the molds to be poured
the following day (Sunday). The artists will lead Studio Tour participants
through the bronze casting process and present their sculpture in two slide
shows, starting at 12 pm (noon) and at 2 pm. Bronze sculpture will be
exhibited and a co-operative opportunity for buying art will be presented
(Amicus).
SCULPTURE REVEALED students’ work will be on display both days.
Sunday: Studio Tour participants will witness a lost wax
bronze casting process. There will be a bronze pour at 2 pm. During the time
leading up to the pour, people can see the preparations (opening of the
kiln, digging the pit and the ramming up and the securing of molds in the
pouring pit). A small sculpture will be "broken out" after the pour to show
the cast bronze contents of the mold. Artists’ work will be on display
around the studio and they will be available for questions. The studio tour
will end promptly at 4pm.
