Odd stories play out in my mind as I sink into the world of a painting. This dot is the boss of that dot. This color is ‘on,’ that one is ‘off,’ the other is simply emptiness. Electricity flows through the black lines, the blue ones are paths to travel. In these abstract works there is a coded narrative full with emotion, hierarchy, embarrassment, triumph, and, above all, relationships. The tales told here are humorous, mysterious, and intensely passionate. It is the stuff of life—waste of resources, production of offspring, connections of intimate understanding, oppression, and inspiration

For a year-and-a-half my focus has been on a series of abstract cityscapes. The subject matter of this series being my memory of the city—not literally a city, but the effect it has had upon me, both visually and emotionally. It has been a concentrated effort to study the information I have stored away about the city. Since the beginning of 2006 my work continues to include these cityscapes, but now allows for evidence of other influences —outer space, computer chips, electric circuits and an on-going fascination with the physics of turbulence.
