Demonstration

I will demonstrate the use of soft pastels and watercolor media, separately and combined.  I will display paintings of each medium also and talk about them and the painting process for each.  People may try their hand at using watercolor and pastels while visiting, if they wish.

Statement

I try to share with the viewer my deepest emotional response to the land as well as the swiftly changing light and shadows.  Painting is my attempt at stopping time, of trying to possess what cannot be possessed, only experienced.  Sometimes I use realistic forms, sometimes abstract.  Self discipline and self trust help me to achieve my goal of expressing the power and beauty in nature and in my imagination. 

Directions

(I will be at Debra Brochin’s Studio)  Turn on Jackman, driving parallel to the fairgrounds.  Drive right on 45th street, then left on Holcomb.  3940 Holcomb is the 2nd house from the end of the street, left hand side.
